The security in and around ancient port city of Marka has been heightened ahead of Somali Prime Minister, Hassan Ali Kheyre visit on Saturday.
Special contingent from VIP protection unit have been already deployed to liaise with Somali Police Force and the army to ensure the safety of the delegation.
The premier will be accompanied by the leader of Southwest state, Abdiasis Hassan Mohamed Lafta Gareen during the visit.
He was hosted in a thanks giving dinner by the regional leader in Baidoa on Friday evening.
Hassan Kheyre visit is part of his tour in state to assess security and development in the area.
During his stay in the city, he is expected to meet local officials, traditional leaders, women and youth representatives.
The chief minister is also scheduled to chat way forward on the integration of local armed forces into the national army.
