Somali President, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo is scheduled to meet key leaders of the coalition of opposition political parties on Wednesday.
The meeting which will be attended by two former heads of state, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed will mainly focus on the upcoming elections come 2020.
According to Villa Somalia communications Director, Abdinur Mohamed Ahmed, The President and the two former leaders who are currently members of a coalition of the opposition parties will discuss roadmap towards the realization of one man one vote.
“The main agenda of the meeting today between President Farmajo and former heads of state, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Sheikh Sharif Ahmed will be about 2020 elections.” Mr. Abdidur reported on his Facebook page.
He said the two former heads of state will work with the government towards strengthening the democratic process via one man one vote.
“The two sides will work together in order to return power to the people in order for the citizens to directly elect their leaders and members of parliament that represent them.”
Somalia’s spy chief, Fahad Yassin facilitated the significant meeting last week where he held talks with Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed after visiting his residence in Mogadishu.
