The Galmudug regional state reconciliation conference will commence on 17th later this month, the technical committee has confirmed.
The conference was due on 4th August, but rescheduled due to the state funeral for the late Mayor of Mogadishu, Abdirahman Omar Osman who was laid to rest in Mogadishu on Sunday.
The technical committee, which was tasked by the office of the Prime Minister in conjunction with the ministry of interior, federal affairs and reconciliation visited Galkayo and Adado in bid to drum support for the meeting in Dhusamareb.
The delegates representing communities living in state are expected to converge in Galmudug administrative capital before 17th August.
They will deliberate on long lasting solution to the political difference and among other issues between ethnic groups that make up Galmudug regional state before upcoming regional leadership elections.
Somali Prime Minister, Hassan Ali Kheyre camped in the state for the past one month to resolve contentious political between the federal government and Ahlu Suna religious group.
The government and Sufi group finalized the implementation of an agreement which allowed the deployment of federal security agencies in the state.
