In yet another loss of one of state men in less than six months, authorities in Ethiopia’s Somali regional State have confirmed the caused of the death of former Somali Premier Ali Khalif Galaydh.
Galaydh died on Thursday in Ethiopia’s eastern city of Jijjiga at the age of 78.
Deputy health minister of Ethio-Somali region Mukhtar Yussuf told the media that doctors confirmed late Galaydh died of the novel coronavirus which ravages many parts of the world.
“The doctors confirmed the death was caused by coronavirus after postmortem was conducted,” he said.
Late Galaydh who arrived in Jigjigo town late last Month was rushed to hospital last Friday after he complained breathing difficulties.
Galaydh served as prime minster of the Horn of Africa nation between October 2000 and 2001.
