The United Arab Emirates plane touched down at Egal International Airport in Hargeysa on Wednesday with medical and humanitarian supplies.
The emergency delivery of humanitarian and medical aid to Somaliland from Abu Dhabi was meant to towards the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic which affected the northern Somali state.
The supplies include masks, gloves and protective kits for health care workers and other facilities to combat coronavirus pandemic.
The Somaliland National Preparedness Committee for COVID19 has welcomed the positive gesture by the UAE government.
Two people tested positive for coronavirus in the unrecognized state on Tuesday.
A resident with a travel history and Chinese national were recorded by health officials.
Hargeysa said it is expecting COVID-19 Diagnostic lab which will be arriving in the forthcoming days with trained Lab professionals for testing.
The region has closed schools and banned flights to contain the coverage of the virus.
