The government of Turkey has pledged to play its part in aiding Somalis affected by flooding in three regions south of the country.
A press statement from the ministry of foreign affairs on Tuesday said it Ankara was deeply saddened by the loss of life and damage to property.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of life and extensive damage caused by the heavy flooding in the city of Beledweyne in Somalia.”
Turkey said it shares the grief with brotherly nation during this hard moment.
“We share the grief of the friendly and brotherly Somali people, wish Allah’s mercy upon those who lost their lives and extend our condolences to their families.”
Meanwhile President, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo who is leading his government efforts in helping the victims of the massive flooding confirmed that envoys from friendly states of Turkey and Qatar have promised their respective government’s role in taking part to provide help to hundreds of families displaced.
Hiran, Bakol, Gedo and lower Jubba regions are mostly affected by the flooding as the result of the ongoing torrential rains across the country.
