Somali President holds talks with his Djibouti counterpart

Somali President, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo held talks with his counterpart of Djibouti, Ismail Omar Guelleh on Monday.

According to Villa Somalia, the two leaders had a fruitful meeting that focused on diplomatic engagements between the neighboring states, Security improvements and the fight against armed group al -Shabaab.

President Farmajo and President Guelleh also discussed mean to back Djibouti bid for UN Security Council Membership.

A delegation led by Somali head of state arrived in Djibouti for two days of an official state visit on Sunday.

Mogadishu and Djibouti share historic relations that date back to the colonial period.

The boat-shaped tiny nation which has its troops as part of the AU peacekeeping forces is at the forefront in helping Somalia realize its quest for peace and stability.

It organized the first peace conference that established a transitional government after the civil war in the year 2000 famously known as Arta peace conference.
