Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo is expected to travel to Dhusameeb town soon ahead of expected conference with regional state leaders.
The president’s visit is response to a call by the regional leaders for federal and member states consultative meeting in Dhusameeb town of central Somalia.
According to sources privy to the development, an advance team has today reached the town to pave the way for the visit of a delegation led by the president.
The President and his team are expected to travel from Mogadishu in the forthcoming hours.
Sources say president will join Prime minister Hassan Ali Kheire and the leaders of the regional states who have been in central Somalia since last week for crucial talks to end differences with the federal government.
Leaders of Galmudug, Hirshabelle, Puntland, Jubbaland and Southwest last week issued communique calling the Federal leaders to attend talks in Dhusameeb town following two days of burning midnight oil to discuss issues of the upcoming elections.
Both leaders of the federal government and Federal member states are expected to put their minds together to resolve the uncertainty of elections to take place in their timeliness.
In their communique, the regional leaders last Sunday ruled out possibility to hold universal suffrage this year in Somalia saying it is not suitable for the country to hold one person one vote and the country’s stakeholders should agree on a common poll modality.
