Somali prime minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has held talks with former Somali president Abdiqasim Salad Hassan in Cairo, the capital city of Egypt.
Roble had paid a courtesy call to former president at his residential house in the city.
The meeting which took place on Tuesday focused on the latest situation of the horn of African nation including the Upper House elections and the upcoming Lower House and presidential elections.
According to brief statement, Prime minister Roble briefed Hassan about the security of the country, the preparation of the election as well as the development achieved recent year.
“I shared general situation of the country particularly with former president. And I listened to his valuable advice,” the prime minister said.
Hassan helped found the Transitional National Government which he served as President of Somalia from 2000 to 2004.
He previously served as Interior Minister and Finance Minister in the government of Mohamed Siad Barre.
Hassan now divides his time between Somalia and Egypt.
