A police officer was sentenced to death after he was found guilty of killing a student at Amoud university in Borama town in Awdal region.
According to statement, the prosecution held that Omar Diriye Burale, attached to Amoud University ‘carelessly’ used his weapon ‘against a civilian’ which resulted in the death Abdishakur Ibrahim.
The murder incident took place on 5th of July 2021 in Borama town.
It was alleged that the officer barred the student from entering the university leading to a heated argument at the gate.
Following hearing that had been running for the last one week, the court today the officer to death.
