The speaker of Somali Lower House of parliament, Mohamed Mursal Sheikh has officially adjourned the fifth session of the house on Wednesday.
A letter from ambassador, Mursal Sheikh Abdirahman office said the House session was officially closed on 27th July and will take two months to break before commencing on 27th September later this year.
President, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo opened the fifth session on March as per the constitution requires.
The session was marred by a lack of quorum several times that were meant to discuss key parliamentary topics such as security and bills in the constitution.
The 6th session is expected to be hosted by newly built temporary hall at Villa Hargeisa compound as the current parliament building will start renovation as per agreement between the Somali government and Turkish International Cooperation (TIKA) which will oversee the construction of a seven-story building.
