SNA nabs 3 foreign fighters in Southern Somalia

Somali security agencies have detained three foreign fighters on Wednesday.

The three Tanzanian nationals were nabbed during security operation by the Somali National Army in Afmadow town in Jubbaland regional state of Somalia.

The security officials said the three are believed to be fighting alongside the al-Shabaab armed group.

Jubbaland regional state officials said they are conducting further investigations on the suspects.

Several foreign fighters mainly from the east African region are believed to be in the ranks of the Somali based insurgent group.
