Kheyre praises Hudur residents’ unity against terror

Somali Prime Minister, Hassan Ali Kheyre has praised the residents of Hudur district of Bakol region for their unity against terrorism.

Speaking during his tour on Tuesday, Hassan Kheyre thanked the community in the area for standing up to efforts by an armed group to control the farming district.

The headquarters of Bakol region was cut off from other parts of the Southwest state following a siege by the al-Shabaab via road connection.

The local community initiative kept the fighters at bay for years despite group position several kilometers outside the town.

The Prime Minister holds talks with local district administration, elder, community representatives, youth and women organizations as well as civil society organizations.

He will launch several development projects including the construction of Waberi stadium to boost sports activities in the area.

The visit will also focus on the integration of pro-Mukhtar Robow Abu Mansour forces into the armed forces.

The premier is accompanied by the southwest state leader, Abdiasis Hassan Mohamed Lafta Garen, Federal members of parliament from the region and some of his cabinet ministers.
