An advisor to HirShabelle President Mohamed Waare was confirmed to be among 15 people who died on Monday after a boat they were was traveling capsized.
According to Abdirisaq Mohamed, a member of the Somali parliament, Dahabo Ahmed was traveling in the ill-fated boat with other government officials in Beletweyene town of Hiiraan region.
Mohamed tweeted that fifteen including Dahabo were killed in the tragic accident.
Sources in the town confirmed that the tragic happened after the boat was overpowered by the water and eventually overturned.

Dahabo who was the president’s advisor on gender affairs.
Some of the officials who travelling with late Dahabo were part of the government and humanitarian aid teams who were supporting in the evacuation and provision of emergency relief.
Waare appointed a 13-member ministerial team Sunday to work with Hiiraan officials in responding to the floods which have so far displaced thousands of families.
