The head of Jubbaland Chamber of Commerce Chairman Shafi’i Rabi Kahin had been killed in suicide attack outside a mosque in southern Somalia on Friday, an official said.
The attack happened at Qaadim mosque in the centre of the town, which may have been aimed at a provincial politician also injured over twenty people.
In a statement, Jubbaland, Ahmed Mohamed Madobe has condemned the attack saying the al-Shabaab killed in the attack innocent civilians
“Today’s terrorist attack in Kismayo killed Jubaland chamber of commerce chairman Shafi’i Rabi Kahin. We extended our condolences to families and friends of those lost their lives in the attack,” Islam said in a statement.
The attack was claimed al-Shabaab saying one of their suicide bombers targeted government officials in Kismayo.
The heinous attack was also condemned by president Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo terming al-Shabaab militants cruel terrorists.
The terrorist attack in Kismayo shows the enemy’s intention to massacre our people,” he said.
