Nairobi’s Somali dominated neighborhood, Eastleigh is undergoing lockdown for the second day after Kenya government termed the estate as one of Coronavirus hotspot.
Shops and other businesses premises have been shut for unspecified period.
In its daily brief on Coronavirus, Kenya ministry of health yesterday said Eastliegh has become one of the centre where number of Coronavirus cases were reported.
The neighborhood so far lost two people to virus after they tested positive for Coronavirus.
The Police dispersed traders Saturday and Sunday and ordered closure of all shops and malls in the area.
According to reliable sources in the areas, over ten people were confirmed to have contracted the disease.
Ever busy and crowded bustling with business, Eastliegh which hosts one of the busiest markets in East Africa and is home to Somalis.
Social distancing is a tall order not only because of the sea of humanity buying and selling items in malls, small shops and streets but also because of the Somali culture.
