Suspected suicide bombing at Mogadishu Mayor’s office resulted the death of several officials on Wednesday.
The district commissioners of Waberi and Abdiasis among those confirmed dead.
The Mayor of the Mogadishu, Abdirahman Omar Osman seriously injured according to officials, he was rushed to Erdogan hospital for treatment where he is undergoing operation.
The mayor was chairing weekly security meeting during the attack.
Mr. Osman met the newly appointed U.N. envoy James Swan in his office earlier today.
The explosion occurred after Mr. Swan left the Mayor’s office.
Al-Shabaab militants has claimed the responsibility for the explosions saying the target was newly-appointed United Nations envoy James Swan who met the Mayor of Mogadishu earlier today
