At least five people were reported to have been killed and several others wounded in an explosion in Baidoa, the administrative capital of Southwest on Saturday morning.
The blast which resulted from an improvised explosive device [IED] concealed in the restaurant exploded at about 7am this morning.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
The attack happened hours earlier before a suicide bomber detonated a bomb at the revenue headquarters in Mogadishu port.
No group had claimed responsibility for the attack.
