Somaliland police have freed two opposition figures arrested last week.
Wadani party Secretary-General, Khadar Hussein and party spokesman, Barkhad Jamaa were released from custody on Tuesday evening in Hargeisa.
Their arrest followed after party leader, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi called for a demonstration against President, Muse Bihi administration.
Abdirahman Irro, however, welcomed the released of the officials.
Wadani which lost the Presidential elections to Kulmiye candidate and current President, Muse Bihi Abdi blames current administrations for human rights violations.
The police and supporters of the party clashed in Hargeisa after the leader was denied entry into headquarters.
Security officials said the demonstrations were threatening public order and not according to the existing laws.
The tension was later defused following intervention by the local traditional leaders.
Somaliland has sworn in new electoral commission barely a day after the region’s House of Elders approved another term extension for itself and the Lower House.
