Somalia is set to reopen its airspace for international flights tomorrow following five months of suspension.
In a statement, Somali immigration department said the country will resume international flights from Monday.
The agency directed the travellers to obtain medical documents to indicating their Coronavirus status.
“The travellers must have a medical certificate confirming they are free from coronavirus. The certificate (Coronavirus negative certificate) not later than 72 hours before the travel time,” the statement reads in part.
The move comes barely four days after Somali cabinet lifted a ban on international flights.
Somali information minister, Mohamed Abdi Hayir said that international flights resume on 3 August with strict measures to Coronavirus.
“After a lengthy debate, the cabinet ministers have decided to relax the coronavirus restrictions imposed on Somalia and agreed on the resumption of international flights from 3 August,” Maareye said.
