Somali government has accussed Kenya of deploying its military and militias in Mandera, a town near Kenya-Somalia border.
In a statement, Somali government warned against ‘mobilasation of weapons and militias at border’ by kenya government saying the acts by Kenya would create insecurity in horn of Africa region.
“Somali government was closely monitoring the military mobilisation by Kenya in Mandera and arming of militias in order create insecurity in Somalia,” the statement by the information ministry reads in part.
Somali government said Kenya deployed its forces along the border with Somalia to invade Beled-Hawa town in Gedo region.
The statement further said Somalia would take any step to defend its political independence, unity and dignity.
The development comes barely two after locals in Beled-Hawa town reported presennce of Kenya soldiers at the border.
The relations between Somalia and Kenya deteriorated after Kenya was accused of interfering Somalia’s internal affairs, a claimed dismissed by Kenya government.
