Members of Somali parliament are considering motion to pull out Kenyan troops out of the southern part of the country.
A section of members of the lower house of parliament led by Mohamed Omar Dalha said they got enough signatures to submit the motion once the house adjourns from recess on September.
Hon. Dalha said his country will not accept Kenya’s unnecessary move across the border including intention to deploy its navy in the disputed maritime border along the Indian ocean coast.
The leader of majority at Kenyan parliament, Aden Duale has earlier said he is working to propose a motion at the national assembly to give go ahead to the military to operate at the disputed maritime border.
The two neighboring states are at loggerheads over oil rich maritime border dispute that is already at the International Court of Justice.
The Hague based court is expected to rule the case on September.
The diplomatic relations between Mogadishu and Nairobi went to all time low months ago after Kenya recalled its ambassador in Mogadishu and ordered Somali ambassador out of its country over alleged Kenya accused Mogadishu auctioning of oil and gas blocks in Kenya’s maritime territorial area that borders Somalia as it claims.
