At least one person was on Saturday evening killed and three others injured in a bomb blast near Afrik Hotel in Mogadishu.
According witnesses, an improvised explosive device (IED) suspected to have been planted on a roadside near the hotel hit a bulletproof vehicle.
Police officials who spoke to the media confirmed that the blast killed a passerby and wounded three others near the area.
Officials also said the occupants of the targeted vehicle escaped unhurt.
It is not yet clear the owner of the targeted vehicle but the road along KM4-Airport is frequently used by government officials.
The blast comes a week after al-Shabaab attack on Afrik Hotel killed nine people including a well known army general Mohamed Nur Galal.
Last Sunday evening, al-Shabaab targeted the hotel with a suicide car bomb to breach the gate before its fighters forced their way into the hotel.
The assailants took dozens of people hostage. After seven hours long operation, Somali government forces succeeded to end the siege and killed four militants.
Among those rescued during operation was a former State minister for Defense, Yussuf Siyad Indha-ade.
