Somali police have said they arrested a man who killed his estranged wife and some of her family members last week.
In a statement, Somali deputy police chief, Zakia Hussein said the police successfully arrested Aweys Hussein Abdi who was at large since last week after ex-laws.
“The police in Mudug region have successfully arrested Aweys Osman Abdi, suspect wanted in connection with a gruesome mass murder against his in-laws, first time, I escaped from the scene but was managed to arrest,” she said.
Abdi is believed to have killed his ex-wife, then, disguised as a woman he proceeded to shoot family members in Garasbaley locality.
Police believe Abdi used an AK-47 rifle in the attack.
