The leader of Jubbaland state of Somalia, Ahmed Mohamed Islam has appealed for dialogue with the leadership of the Federal Government of Somalia.
Ahmed Madobe who was speaking during the opening ceremony of the regional parliament second session.
He underscored the application of the provisional constitution as a guide to ending the political stalemate between his state and the Federal government in Mogadishu.
“Let us talk, take your rights as per the constitution and allow me to take my rights under the document.” President Madobe urged.
The Deputy leader, regional assembly speaker and some members of two houses of federal parliament were present.
On security front and developments on the Gedo region where fugitive state security minister, Abdirashid Janan militias clashed with troops in the border last week, Ahmed Islam blamed the Federal government for destabilizing areas liberated from the armed group al-Shabaab years ago while calling for the withdrawal of the forces.
He said state forces made significant gains as far as the fight on the armed group is concerned vowing to liberate areas still under the group’s control.
