Hirshabelle state leader, Mohamed Abdi Warre has condoled two state officials killed in a land mine attack along Balcad Jowhar road on Saturday.
Middle Shabelle region deputy governor for financial affairs, Abdullahi Shitawe and former Hirshabelle trade minister, Sabriye Osman were killed when the vehicle they were traveling in was hit by IED.
Al- Shabaab claimed attack also claimed the lives of soldiers escorting the officials.” On behalf of Hirsballe state, I send my sincere heartfelt condolences to the residents of state, the families of the officials and martyred soldiers.” President Warre said.”
The two officials and soldiers stood up for the return of peace and stability in the country particularly in Hirshabelle state.” Warre added.
The state leader prayed that the fallen officials’ soul rest in paradise.
Armed group al-Shabaab carried out several deadly attacks against government officials and AMISOM troops along Balcad Jowhar road this year.
