Fighting broke out in the border town of Belet-Hawo in Gedo region Thursday morning between Somali federal forces and Jubbaland militias.
According to reports, the clashes displaced people in Beled-Hawa and Mandera towns from their homes.
The fighting which happened in Border Point One area near the Kenyan border caused panic as locals fled from their homes.
The casualties caused by the clashes are unclear.
The clash comes barely days after hundreds of Jubbaland forces arrived in villages near Belet-Hawo and Mandera towns.
The two sides clashed in early leading to the death of twenty people mostly soldiers.
