President of Galmudug state Ahmed Abdi Kariye Qoorqoor has signed a number of bills into law, the bills were recently approved by the regional parliament.
Four significant bills were signed into law by the regional leader in a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace in Dhusamareb on Saturday evening.
The new laws include environmental management law, institutional law, regional police establishment act, and local government law.
These regulations have been submitted by the Environment, Planning, Security, and the Ministry of Interior & Local Government dockets.
The signing ceremony was attended by regional leaders including the Deputy President, the Speaker of Parliament, the Standing Committees of Parliament, members of both federal and regional houses, the Judiciary, Advisers, and Officials from the Presidency.
President Qorqor thanked the parliament for endorsing vital bills before signed into laws.
He further noted that the legislation will be the basis for the regional government to carry out its mandate diligently.
