The Somali government has on Wednesday confirmed 54 new coronavirus patients.
According to the ministry of health and social services updates, all 54 cases were recorded in the Banadir region which largely consists of the capital, Mogadishu.
They were 40 male and 14 female respectively with one full recovery.
The new discovery puts the total positive COVID 19 cases in the horn of the African nation to 582 with the death toll standing at 28 so far.
