Djibouti on Sunday reported 114 new confirmed COVID-19 cases as the disease ravages the tiny Horn of Africa nation.
In a statement, ministry of health said the cases bring the country’s total to 846.
This is one of the highest in the Horn of Africa and makes the nation most impacted in the region.
Over 658 people were tested for the novel coronavirus over the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health said.
It said 102 COVID-19 patients have recovered.
Djibouti has so far tested 8,144 people since the outbreak reported in the country.
The disease claimed lives of patients.
According to the ministry, general lockdown in the country except for essential services has been extended to 23 April.
Health ministry announced that the local community transmission stage has been upticking.
It says additional support is required to bring to scale preparedness and response capacity.
