A blast has killed the district commissioner of Aw-Dhegle in Lower Shabelle district on Wednesday.
The Inland Explosive Device (IED) was used to target, Mohamed Yarow according to Lower Shabelle governor, Ibrahim Adan Ali Najah.
The agricultural town south of Somali capital, Mogadishu was recently recaptured by Somali armed forces from the armed group al-Shabaab.
Several attempts by the group to retake the strategic town at the bank of the river Shabelle were repulsed by the troops.
