Unidentified South African gunmen have killed four Somali nationals in two separate attacks for the last 24-hours.
Abdullahi Mohamed Hussein, on Friday was killed inside his shop in Delft near Cape town after gunmen raided the premise. The attackers made away with unknown amount of money.
Hours later, South African gangs attacked a shop in Kwanobuhle villages just 15km away Uitenhage of Eastern Cape region.
The gunmen killed Abdinasir Jama’ and seriously injured Mohamed Jama’ who the owners of the shop.
In a separate incident, two Somali nationals identified as Abdihakim Kelley and Mikail Bitow were killed after gunmen broke into their shop.
No arrest was made so far by South Africa Police.
South Africans often accuse foreigners of taking their jobs, a reason they often use to justify attacks against foreigners in South Africa.
For years, South African police have been accused of being complicit in attacks against immigrants, something that prompted many immigrants including Somalis to possess illegal arms in a desperate attempt to defend themselves and their properties against gangs.
Dozens of Somalis have been killed in South Africa for the past few years.
Many of them have had their businesses robbed and seriously wounded.
