Jubbaland leader, Ahmed Mohamed Madobe has called for dialogue to end differences over the 2020/21 elections saying the country could not bear any more political crisis.
Speaking at the Heritage Institute for Policy Studies (HIPS) Forum in Garowe, Madobe said for the country to hold commonly agreed elections, it need inclusive talks to iron out the political crisis.
The leader called on the opposition leaders to refrain from any act which could plunge the country into anarchy.
“I urged these candidates who are seeking the presidency to be very careful about what could happen to this country, if they act in a wrong way,” he said.
Madobe also urged president Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo to seek solution for the crisis saying that he himself would like the leaders and stakeholders of Somalia to convene in Garowe for dialogue.
“I personally invite president Mohamed Abdullahi to come to Garowe town for dialogue to resolve the differences over the elections,” he said.
Jubbaland state leader denied accusations from the federal Somali government that Kenya influenced his views on the Sept 17 agreement about the elections.
“I am a Somali, I never tried to get foreign passport and I am not support Kenya in anyway,” he said.
