Authorities in Jubbaland state of Somalia have confirmed three new coronavirus cases in the southern state.
The COVID 19 regional emergency response committee briefing in the interim administrative capital of Kismayo has noted that out ten samples sent to the national laboratory in Mogadishu confirmed three positive, five tested negative while remaining two are awaiting confirmation.
The state had previously two coronavirus patients thus puts the new positive number to five.
Jubbaland joins Puntland sate as federal member states with confirmed coronavirus patients in its administrative territories.
Regional states across the country have been directed by the federal government to implement health ministry measures to curb the spread of the virus.
Land and air transport have been suspended across apart from permitted humanitarian supplies.
