Authorities in Southwest state of Somalia have unveiled new health facility to quarantine suspected COVID 19 cases in Baidoa, the administrative capital of the state.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the regional cabinet, parliamentarians as well as the representatives from Baidoa district officials.
The center in Baidoa general hospital was equipped by the World Health Organization to curb with the virus.
The state is so not recorded any known patient suffering from coronavirus.
The administration has tightened its borders while suspending transport from affected states in the country to keep away the deadly disease.
Somalia has recorded over 40 fatalities with 480 positive cases becoming the worst affected country in the horn of the African region after Djibouti.
