Somalia has recorded the highest coronavirus fatality on Monday.
The Ministry of health and social services said nine people died in the country mostly in the capital Mogadishu.
“We send our sincere condolences to the family and friends of nine people who died as the result of COVID 19 in Martini hospital.” The Ministry said in a statement.
The number of deaths related to coronavirus has now increased from 24 to 32 with 436 positive cases.
The authorities blamed private medical facilities for keeping COVID 19 patients in their amenities without the knowledge of the health officials until the last minute.
“The authorities strongly warn private health centers to admit coronavirus patients and report to the emergency centers before patients’ health status deteriorates.”
Somalia has now the highest number of people that died due to the deadly virus in the horn of the Africa region.
The government has put in place dawn to a dusk curfew from 15th April to curb the spread of coronavirus.
