Somalia government has on Saturday received COVID 19 medical supplies donated by the government of Turkey.
The equipment which included much needed ten ventilators, 20,000 diagnostic testing kits, 40,000 surgical masks, 10,000 N95 masks and 20,000 protective coveralls was delivered by Turkish air force plane at Aden Abdulle International Airport where senior government officials led by the Minister for Foreign Affair and International Cooperation received the supplies.
Accompanied by the Minister for Health and Social Services, Dr. Fowziya Nur Abikar, The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador, and Ahmed Isse Awad thanked Ankara for the unwavering support.
“We received shipment of ventilators, test kits, medical supplies, masks, overalls and materials from Turkey to support us against COVID 19.” Ambassador Awad confirmed, adding “We are grateful to the Government and People of Turkey for standing with us during this crisis.”
Likewise the office of President, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo appreciated the steps by counterpart, President Rajab Tayyip Erdogan to help Mogadishu in containinig the spread of the deadly virus.

The horn of African nation has recorded over 600 Corona virus cases with death toll of 28 people.
