Somali government has lifted the suspension on two Somali media barely two weeks after the government directed them to stop operation.
The Ministry of Information in Somalia has said the organizations have been given permission to resume their operations.
The General Director of Information Ministry, Abdirahman Yussuf Adala told the media that the government rescinded its decision to suspend Media Ink and Perspective Media.
“The ministry has permitted Media INK and Perspective media to restart their operations. The ministry suspended the two organization on the 12th of this month for failing to adhere National strategy for Public awareness,” he said.
In a statement dated on 12th of November, the ministry announced that it suspended the two and directed to stop their work in Somalia on media.
The ministry noted that the suspension would be effective on the same day.
