Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) said a foreign agent was behind a Saturday truck bomb attack in Mogadishu.
The spy agency noted in its official twitter account saying it presented a preliminary report to the leadership of the federal state.
“We presented a report detailing planning by the foreign state regarding the massacre of Somali citizens on Saturday in Mogadishu.” NISA said, adding “We will cooperate with our international partners to conclude the investigative report.”
Somali spy agency did not specifically name the so-called foreign state but a news report by Turkish based online site Yenisafak blamed the United Arab Emirates leadership for the attack that also killed two Turkish engineers and 78 Somalis.
Yenisifak said “The UAE is behind yesterday’s bombing in Mogadishu. This is now clear. The person who conducted this task on behalf of the UAE, the one who is in control over the terror traffic is Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.”
The new development comes as a Qatari airforce plane with medical supplies just jetted in the country in response to provide medical assistance to the victims of Saturday attack.
According to the health officials at least 81 people were killed and more than 100 were wounded.
