The High court in Mogadishu has on Monday postponed a case filed by Himilo Qaran opposition political party against the Federal Government of Somalia.
The court ruled that the case will be heard in one week after the legal team representing Himilo Qaran requested more time for preparations.
One legal team member of the former President’s political party was also disqualified due to regulations related issues.
The former head of state, Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed filed the case against Somali Civil Aviation and Metrology Agency (SCAMA) after the chartered plane in which he and other opposition political members wanted to travel was denied permission.
Sheikh Sharif together with former immediate President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud were due to travel to Kismayo in September to attend the inauguration ceremony of the Jubbaland state leader, Ahmed Mohamed Islam.
The re-election of Ahmed Madobe was rejected by the Federal Government for violating the Ministry of Interior and the Federal Affairs guidelines.
