Somali Deputy PM attends China’s 70th anniversary

Somali Deputy Prime Minister, Mahdi Mohamed Guled and senior Federal Government officials attended an event to mark the 70th anniversary communist rule in the people’s Republic of China.

The occasion which was held at Chinese embassy in Mogadishu was attended by diplomats representing various countries with presence in Somalia.

The Somali Deputy Premier who congratulated Beijing for the anniversary acknowledged the historic diplomatic ties between Mogadishu and Beijing.

Various activities including well organized military parade attended by Chinese leaders in Tiananmen Square in Beijing to mark the event.

On 1 October 1949, Mao Zedong – or Chairman Mao – announced the formation of the PRC, after communist forces won a bloody civil war.

Modern China has since developed at an extraordinary pace, but it has also one of the world’s most restrictive states.

President Xi Jinping said “no force” could shake China as he oversaw a huge military parade in Tiananmen Square.

“No force can ever stop the Chinese people and nation from marching forward,” said the Chinese leader in a brief opening address.
