A renegade former Somali national army (SNA), Abukar Warsame Huud has today arrived in Somali capital, Mogadishu following talks with officials from SNA in Beledweyne of Hiiraan region.
Huud who leads militias calling Hiiraan salvation council had become Mutineer a month after Ali Gudlawe was elected HirShabelle State president.
According to multiple sources, Huud who had been fighting Hirshabelle and SNA forces for months has been convinced to hold talks with the federal government leaders.
Later today, Huud is expected to meet with President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo at Villa Somalia.
Early this month, militias loyal to Huud and SNA forces outside Beledweyne town after Huud militias attempted ambushed SNA convoy heading operations against al-Shabaab in Hiiraan region.
Several combatants from both sides were killed in the fighting which lasted for hours.
Hud and his faction are protesting the election of Ali Guudlaawe as the president of HirShabelle arguing his election violated the clan power matrix which dictated a new president should have come from Hiiraan region.
