Somalia’s civil aviation authorities confirmed that Turkey owned passenger airline which departed Mogadishu on Sunday had made a U-turn minutes after taking off.
Officials who spoke the media in Mogadishu said Turkish Airline’s flight heading to Istanbul landed safely after it lost cabin pressure.
The incident happened on Sunday, the pilot came to know there was pressurization problem when the plane reached high but he subsequently returned and landed safely,” the official.
He added that the plane underwent technical repair and proceeded its journey.
Authorities of Turkish national Carrier have not yet commented on the incident.
Turkish Airlines resumed it’s flights Mogadishu last month after months of flight suspension over Coronavirus.
Turkish Airlines which is the first major international carrier to travel to Mogadishu since the collapse of the central government in 1991 began regular service in 2012.
Turkey is Somalia’s strongest ally and has spent over $1 billion on aid and infrastructure in Somalia since 2011.
It also supports Somalia’s National Army and has its largest embassy in the world in Mogadishu.
