Kenyan Cabinet Secretary in charge of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Monica Juma received the United Nations Envoy for Somalia, Ambassador James Swan and Ambassador Lisa Filippeto who heads the United Nations Support Office in Somalia (UNSOS), at her office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday.
The officials discussed a range of issues, mainly on the political and security situation in the Horn region as well as the AMISOM operations in Somalia, according to Ambassador Monica, who tweeted about the meeting.
Both envoys commended the role of Kenya and demonstrated commitment in the pursuit of peace and security in Somalia and the Horn of Africa, according to Ambassador Monica.
She further said that Kenya’s commitment was to remain a reliable partner of the UN in the region and beyond.
