Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has invited all federal member state leaders to attend Mogadishu, a move previously proposed by leaders of Jubbaland and Puntland states.
According to sources privy to the development, President Farmajo agreed the leaders to come to Mogadishu to participate another round of talks.
Previously, Jubbaland and Puntland leaders, Ahmed Mohamed Madobe and Saed Abdullahi Deni had demanded other regional leaders to be included the talks.
The sources confirmed the leaders of Galmudug, Hirshabelle and Southwest leaders will be travelling to Mogadishu for the talks.
In a tweet, US ambassador to Somalia Donald Yamamoto welcomed the inclusion of the other leaders.
“The US embassy in Somalia appreciate Villa Somalia for bringing FMS leaders together in Mogadishu,” a tweet from the embassy read in part.
Yamamoto also hailed Galmudug’s Ahmed Qoorqoor for ‘leadership on Dhusamareb 3 process.
