Unidentified attackers have killed former Somali national player in Afgoye, a town located 30km south of Somali capital.
According to Afgoye local authorities, Abdiweli Olad Qanyare Gaatamow shot dead shortly after leaving a mosque last night.
Gaatamow, a beloved coach and head of soccer for Afgoye town died on the spot.
He was running a Ramadan soccer tournament in Afgoye.
The assailants managed to escape from the scene before the security forces arrived.
He was a former goalkeeper of Somali national team.
No group has yet claimed the responsibility for the murder of the player.
