The government of Djibouti has condemned the suicide bomb which killed more than seventy people mostly civilians in Mogadishu.
In a Twitter post, Djibouti president, Ismail Omar Guelleh has pledged support for Somalia and its people in the fight against al-Shabaab.
“We strongly condemn this barbaric and criminal act committed by agents in the service of blind violence, and we express our solidarity and compassion with the Somali people and their government,” the president said.
The president said, “This outbreak of violence is not likely to call into question the many successes and victories recently recorded by the sister nation of Somalia in its legitimate quest to restore stability and security throughout its national territory.”
The suicide truck bomb attack on a security checkpoint in Mogadishu killed 72 people, including two Turkish nationals, and wounded many more.
