Somalia’s police has suspended the issuance of Certificates of Good Conduct as part of measures aimed at reducing the spread of coronavirus in the country.
In a Twitter, Somali deputy Police Commissioner, Zakia Hussein announced that private fingerprint forensic services at Criminal Investigations Department will remain suspended.
“…regarding the measures by the federal government to curb the spread of Coronavirus, we would like to suspended services in respect to private fingerprint forensic and issuance of Police Clearance Certificates previously known as Certificate of Good Conduct,” reads the Twitter post.
She said the centre will also be ceasing its operations to avoid overcrowding at their offices in a bid to reduce the rate of coronavirus transmission.
The commissioner did not mention when will the suspension will be lapsing.
The document is a requirement for candidates needed to be employed by organization, agencies and the government departments.
Somalia also suspended all international flights to avert Coronavirus amid the country’s health ministry confirmed first case this week.
