A high delegation led by So.ali deputy Prime minister Mohamed Mahdi Guled has arrived in Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya.
The delegation was welcomed at the Jomo Kenyatta by officials from Kenyan government.
Guled and Somali delegation will be attending yhe 39th Inter-Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD) Extraordinary Summit of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government which is set to kick off today in Nairobi.
The Summit is aimed at reflecting on current challenges the region is confronted with and the way forward.
The extraordinary assembly comes against the backdrop of recent border escalation between Sudan and Ethiopia.
The Executive Secretary of IGAD, Dr Workneh Gebeyehu, last month called on the two sisterly countries to exercise utmost restraint and avoid actions that can further heighten tensions and actively seek diplomatic means to find a lasting and sustainable solution to the matter.
