The president of Galmudug state, Ahmed Abdi Kariye officially submitted the list of candidates running for the upper house of the Somali parliament on Tuesday.
Only candidates vying for six senate seats were shortlisted while those contesting for the remaining are yet to be announced.
Among the new candidates is Galmudug state livestock minister Sa’id Siyad Shirwa and current MP Abdihakim Maalim Ahmed.
The outgoing Senate first deputy speaker Abshir Ahmad has not been included in the list.
